FAQs

Are the units customisable?

Your home, your way—inside and out. Our container homes are fully customisable to suit your style, needs, and lifestyle. Common customisations include modifying door and window placements, adding or removing kitchen cabinets, and altering the design layout. Choose floor and cabinet colours to match your style and taste. While most customisations are free of charge, others incur a fee.

What is the lead time?

Approximately 16 weeks depending on customisations.

Do Irish Home Solutions deliver and install?

Irish Home Solutions will deliver and install your brand new home. Additional charges may apply for a large crane if the truck cannot access the intended site.

Do I need planning permission?

Our units can be classified as movable dwellings, not permanent dwellings. As of December 2025, the Irish government is working on legislation that would allow modular buildings of up to 45 square metres to be installed without the need for planning permission. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the unit they purchase aligns with local planning regulations.

Can I prepare for the install myself to save money?

Of course! We are flexible to suit the needs of our customers. A flat concrete slab or piers/ footings is recommended. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure this surface is level and ready for install.
